Dietitian Assistant

Job Summary:

Suffolk County Department of Health Services is seeking a skilled Dietitian Assistant to join their team. As a Dietitian Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing nutrition services to clients in the WIC program. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting nutrition assessments, updating high-risk care plans, and providing participant-centered nutrition counseling to WIC participants. You will also be responsible for prescribing, tailoring, authorizing, and issuing WIC food packages and special formulas prescribed by healthcare providers. Additionally, you will ensure the efficient flow of nutrition and health assessment and education processes. Responsibilities:

Conduct nutrition assessments and update high-risk care plans for WIC participants

Provide participant-centered nutrition counseling to WIC participants

Prescribe, tailor, authorize, and issue WIC food packages and special formulas prescribed by healthcare providers

Ensure the efficient flow of nutrition and health assessment and education processes

Collaborate with healthcare providers to provide comprehensive care to WIC participants

Requirements:

Associate's degree in Dietetics or Nutrition

Registration as a Registered Dietetic Technician (DTR)

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
