Job Summary:

The Commonwealth of Virginia seeks a highly skilled Research Scientist to contribute to our team. The successful candidate will perform theoretical calculations on the capture and conversion of CO2 using a multi-scale approach including density functional theory and classical as well as quantum molecular dynamics. Additionally, the Research Scientist will conduct experimental ultrafast transient absorption measurements of charge separation and electron transfer in solution phase systems.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement theoretical models for CO2 capture and conversion
- Conduct experimental ultrafast transient absorption measurements
- Collaborate with the team to achieve research goals

Requirements:

- Ph.D. in Physics or Physical Chemistry
- Experience working with computer codes such as VASP and Gaussian
- Experience in ultrafast spectroscopy techniques

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience in machine learning and generation of force-fields
- Modeling of catalysts and energy materials
