Job Summary

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lab Manager to join our team. As a key member of our research team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our laboratory, ensuring that all experiments are conducted in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities:

- Oversee the daily operations of the laboratory, including animal husbandry, laboratory maintenance, and equipment management.
- Collaborate with research scientists to design and implement experiments, and to analyze data.
- Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of experimental results.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of laboratory activities, including experimental protocols, data collection, and results.

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as molecular biology, genetics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a laboratory setting, with a strong background in molecular biology and genetics.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with research scientists, technicians, and other laboratory staff.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Master's degree in a relevant field, such as molecular biology, genetics, or a related field.
- Experience with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and other laboratory software.
