Job Overview

cFocus Software Incorporated seeks a skilled IT Technical Writer III to support our program with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in Washington, DC. This role offers remote work capabilities and requires an active Public Trust clearance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive online documentation for all projects within the Performance Work Statement (PWS) scope.
  • Create and update technical documentation for complex IT systems, ensuring user-friendly content for various audience levels.
  • Produce and maintain translator guides for data exchange processes and detailed file specifications for data management and integration.
  • Manage and update the Report Library, ensuring accuracy and relevance of reports, and maintain the Data Element Dictionary for consistency across systems.
  • Collaborate with EPA personnel and other contractors to gather accurate information and implement documentation best practices and style guides for consistency.
  • Utilize technical writing tools and content management systems effectively and ensure all documentation adheres to EPA standards and guidelines.
  • Create and maintain documentation templates for various document types and coordinate with development teams to document new features and system changes.
  • Perform quality assurance reviews on all produced documentation and upload finalized documents to appropriate S3 buckets in EPA's AWS Cloud environment.
  • Document all changes made to existing documentation for version control and identify and close relevant User Support Incident Tracking System (USITS) issues.
  • Collaborate in the development of training materials and presentation content and assist in creating web-based training modules when required.
  • Stay updated on the latest technical writing trends and EPA documentation requirements and participate in project meetings to ensure documentation aligns with project goals.
  • Provide expert advice on improving documentation processes and user experience.
