Job Summary

Reporting to the Director of Community Standards and Conduct, the Conduct Specialist provides support to the overall advancement of the student conduct administration. This position will serve as a conduct administrator that will investigate, adjudicate and resolve misconduct and academic dishonesty cases. The Conduct Specialist will also be a member of the Behavior Assessment and Intervention Team (BAIT) and meet with students and make campus referrals; facilitate educational workshops, training and outreach sessions for faculty, staff, students and the Discipline Committee; help develop office marketing and branding; assist with keeping the Student Code of Conduct up to date; and maintain confidentiality as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the overall advancement of the department's mission and programs.
  • Serve as a University conduct administrator, investigating, adjudicating, and resolving reports of moderate to serious alleged misconduct and academic dishonesty; adhering to code of conduct best practices as well as federal laws, including FERPA.
  • Member of the Behavior Assessment and Intervention Team (BAIT) - will respond to BAIT reports, meet with students reported to BAIT, and make appropriate campus referrals.
  • Coordinate the management of cases and incident referrals using the database Maxient.
  • Develop, schedule, and facilitate educationally-based, formative workshops or other conduct outcomes.
  • Responsible for working with Student Affairs Media department to develop office marketing and branding.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of training or other outreach sessions for residence life staff, conduct officers, hearing panel members, or others.
  • Serve as a resource to the Discipline Committee.
  • Monitor completion of conduct processes, including tracking assigned outcomes, conduct officer documentation and follow-up with students and conduct officers.
  • Assists with the regular revision and publication of the Student Code of Conduct.
  • Assist in the development of educationally-based conduct outcomes and programs that support the holistic development of students.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in college student personnel, student affairs, higher education administration, or related field and 1 year of experience working in student affairs, preferably in student conduct and/or residence life.
  • Master's degree in related field.
  • Knowledge, skills and experience working with college students in the college or university environment.
  • Experience with Maxient software system.
  • Experience developing and facilitating training sessions and workshops.
  • Experience as a University conduct officer.
  • 1+ years' experience working in university student affairs, preferably in student conduct and/or residence life.
