Job Title: Open Roads Project Engineer

STV is seeking an experienced and skilled OpenRoads Project Engineer to join our Transportation group in New Jersey. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and refining 3D models, alignments, profiles, corridors, and cross-sections for transportation projects using Bentley's OpenRoads software.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilize OpenRoads to create and modify 3D models, alignments, and profiles for transportation projects.
  • Configure and customize OpenRoads workspaces to meet project-specific requirements.
  • Mentor and train junior engineers in the effective use of OpenRoads.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to integrate design elements into comprehensive project plans.
  • Prepare detailed drawings, plans, and technical specifications for roadway, highway, and transit infrastructure projects.
  • Conduct thorough design reviews, constructability assessments, and quality control checks to ensure designs align with project objectives and regulatory standards.
  • Contribute to the preparation of project reports, presentations, and client communications to ensure effective project delivery.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field.
  • P.E. License in New Jersey or the ability to obtain it within 6 months.
  • Proficiency in Bentley's OpenRoads Designer and related tools such as OpenRoads ConceptStation.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in transportation engineering, with a strong focus on roadway design, alignment optimization, and geometric design.
  • Familiarity with design standards and guidelines, including AASHTO, FHWA, and NJDOT regulations.
  • Strong technical skills in MicroStation, AutoCAD/Civil 3D, and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication skills, with proven teamwork and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Bentley's OpenBridge software.
  • Familiarity with SUDA (Subsurface Utility Design and Analysis) tools for utility and drainage modeling.
