About the Position

This role is an on-campus, in-person position that serves as the initial point of contact and administrative support for the Residence Life and Student Housing front office located in Boaz Commons. The Coordinator will respond to and triage customer issues, resolve issues, and prioritize referrals to appropriate personnel. This position is essential in providing front-line customer services for students, faculty, staff, and contractors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support for the RLSH Front office, answering phones and managing walk-in traffic, resolving as many issues as possible in the moment.
  • Manage the ID Card system, providing ID card services for students, staff, faculty, contractors, and guests, and issuing keys to facilities staff and contractors for approved work.
  • Respond to emails from current and prospective students and families, resolving student concerns about services offered, assignments, lofts, move-in and move-out processes, and more.
  • Supervise and train RLSH Ambassadors (student worker receptionists), coordinate training on a quarterly basis, and provide ongoing training throughout the academic year.
  • Participate in the evaluation process for student staff, provide leadership and development for student staff, and serve on department or institutional committees as needed.
Requirements

A High school diploma or equivalent is required, and a Bachelor's degree is preferred. A minimum of one year of work experience is required, with experience providing exemplary customer service to a diverse group of constituents. Experience working in a para-professional or professional role in Higher education is preferred, as well as supervisory experience.

  • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate broadly across the University and develop and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of constituencies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and analyze problems, as well as devise solutions.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
