Job Title: Gulf RN Resident

At US Oncology, Inc, we are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Registered Nurse Resident to join our team. Job Summary:

The Gulf RN Resident will be responsible for providing professional nursing care to patients, adhering to national and company standards and guidelines for specialty regulations. This role will involve working under general supervision, recognizing physical, psychological, and spiritual aspects of care, and participating in company-wide quality initiatives.

Responsibilities:
  • Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and promote the continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.
  • Prepare and administer therapies under the direction and supervision of a physician.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Follow OSHA guidelines when handling cytotoxic agents, biohazardous waste, and any other material potentially infected with a blood-borne pathogen.
  • Facilitate clinical operations and patient care, including scheduling consultations, pre-testing, diagnostic tests or procedures, referrals, and future appointments for patients.
  • Triage patient phone calls as needed and document relevant information in the patient's chart.
  • Inter-professionally collaborate with other healthcare professionals.
  • Act as a resource to LPN/LVNs and medical assistants.
  • Participate in professional development activities and maintain current knowledge of oncology nursing by participating in ongoing educational opportunities.
Qualifications:
  • Completed graduation from an accredited program for professional nursing education within three years prior to January 2025; BSN preferred.
  • Current BCLS (Basic Cardiac and Life Support) certification required.
  • RN state license with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state is required by end of residency program in order to be hired on into a permanent position.
  • Experience and knowledge of the purpose and use of medications in the treatment of cancer is preferred.
