Job Summary:

Serves as the primary point of contact for ambulatory practice and pathology patients. Responsible for gathering and analyzing patient demographic and payor data to ensure optimal reimbursement for The MetroHealth System. Ensures accurate patient registration, scheduling, pre-certification, and authorization for services. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

Key Responsibilities:

Gather and analyze patient demographic and payor data
Ensure accurate patient registration, scheduling, pre-certification, and authorization for services
Uphold the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent
One year of work experience in medical billing or patient registration, or education related to medical billing or patient registration from an accredited institution
Possess current certification as a Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA)
Pass the PSR pre-employment screening test with a score of 75% or better and the post-employment test with a score of 80% or better

Physical Requirements:
May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day. May need to sit or stand for extended periods. See in the normal visual range with or without correction. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Finger dexterity to operate office equipment required. May need to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds on occasion. Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications. Ability to see computer monitor and departmental documents.
