Job Summary

The Assistant General Manager will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our hotel, focusing on guest satisfaction, employee engagement, and revenue growth. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced professional to join our team and contribute to our mission of becoming one of the most admired and service quality driven hotel companies in the industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular employee meetings to keep team members informed of policies, procedures, and brand standards.
  • Inform team members of new programs and initiatives that enhance guest satisfaction and operational excellence.
  • Respond to guest complaints in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist with inventory management to maximize room revenue and ensure budgeted targets are met.
  • Organize and prepare accounts payable/receivable, deposits, and other financial tasks.
  • Input direct bills into the system and maintain accurate records.
  • Create a positive and safe work environment for all employees and guests.
  • Monitor and lead the guest service team, resolving conflicts and addressing guest concerns.
  • Train team members on brand standards and ensure they meet or exceed guest expectations.
  • Develop and communicate scheduling for team members, ensuring adequate coverage and staffing levels.
  • Enhance associate morale by recognizing and rewarding team members who meet or exceed guest expectations.
  • Participate in staffing needs, including interviewing, screening, hiring, and employee relations.
  • Conduct regular walk-throughs of the hotel to identify areas for improvement and document issues for discussion with the General Manager.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule to cover various business needs, including team member absenteeism, guest events, and other operational requirements.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient operations and effective communication.
  • Manage timecards for Guest Service Representatives and ensure accurate records are maintained.
  • Prepare for audits, evaluate results, and collaborate with management and team to implement necessary improvements.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of previous hospitality experience, preferably in a supervisory role.
  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and ability to build strong relationships with guests and team members.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.
  • Availability to work all shifts, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs.
  • Ability to learn and utilize various computer and software applications.
