Core Duties:

  • Administers the maintenance and revision of inventory documentation, ensuring the execution of daily tasks essential for effective inventory management.
  • Develops and enforces efficient inventory policies and procedures.
  • Maintains precise inventory records and generates necessary reports to facilitate accurate inventory counts, including documentation of audits and adjustments.
  • Conducts cycle counts and implements system modifications as required.
  • Coordinates slotting activities to enhance warehouse productivity, utilizing inventory management tools.
  • Leads the implementation of inventory loss prevention strategies, ensuring that all personnel are familiar with the correct procedures.
  • Plans and executes a recoup program to account for damaged or defective products, ensuring proper handling through disposal, salvage, or restocking.
  • Monitors inventory quality and accuracy assurance initiatives, including weekly and monthly reporting, and develops security measures for inventory management.
  • Implements a program to audit returns and relocate returned products accurately, processing documentation for prompt credit transactions.
  • Conducts searches to locate products within the inventory system and adjusts records to resolve discrepancies.
  • Takes appropriate actions regarding products that are not in sellable condition.
  • Assumes accountability for shrinkage, including cycle counts, product damage, receiving adjustments, vendor discrepancies, and expired merchandise.
  • Oversees receiving and product rotation processes.
  • Manages the expansion of items on the potential out-of-stock report.
  • Directs external storage operations and manages the transfer of products from vendors to storage facilities and reconciles inventory.
  • Responsible for recruiting, training, and retaining staff, conducting performance evaluations, and initiating disciplinary actions in consultation with Human Resources when necessary.
  • Serves as a mentor and resource for staff, fostering a motivating environment.
  • Adheres to the organization's mission and core values.
  • Stays informed about current trends and developments in inventory management through literature and professional development opportunities.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with effective organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Capability to prepare and deliver presentations as a departmental representative.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and work independently or collaboratively.
  • Mathematical proficiency to perform calculations and apply basic algebra and geometry concepts.
  • Ability to develop solutions for complex challenges, referencing established precedents and policies as needed.
  • Basic understanding of relevant regulatory agencies and laws.
  • Must be able to perceive auditory warning signals used in warehouse operations.
