**Job Title:** Chief Financial Officer

**Reports To:** Chief Executive Officer

**Salary Range:** $80,000 - $120,000

**Summary:** Direct and manage all practices and activities in the Finance and Accounting functions to ensure compliance with State and Federal rules and regulations. Ensure generally accepted accounting practices (GAAP) are met. Make recommendations relating to budget preparation, income forecasts, and operational changes as needed. Assist in grant preparation, including research and reporting to various entities. Develop strategic plans and quarterly reports to the Board of Directors.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Directly or through subordinates, oversee and manage the financial and accounting functions of the Credit Union, including ALM, AP, AR, budgets, collections, GL, financial analysis, financial reporting, and recordkeeping, investments.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate policies and procedures for the Accounting/Finance Department, ensuring they reflect current regulations and are communicated to and implemented by subordinates.
  • Direct and supervise the development, production, promotion, and sale of the Credit Union's products and services.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for the Credit Union's monthly Board meetings.
  • Attend scheduled Senior management meetings.
  • Participate in determining deposit and loan rates.
  • Provide guidance on investment decisions.
  • Hold periodic department meetings to identify areas for improvement, changes in procedures, new developments, or changes in services.
  • Assist with lease negotiation and major purchasing decisions for capital equipment or other capital asset expenditures.
  • Prepare and maintain ALM and quarterly reporting.
  • Manage and maintain funding of the Allowance for Loan Lease Loss Model.
  • Forecast the balance sheet.
  • Assist in analysis of new branch site locations and closings of existing branches.
  • Oversee various internal audit procedures, including cash counts, teller drawer audits, review of employee accounts, loan documentation, wire transfers, etc.
  • Serve as the Credit Union's liaison with regulatory agency examiners and internal auditors, acting as gatekeeper for exam documents.
  • Oversee and manage the Debit Card department, with staff cross-trained in all departments.
  • Oversee and manage the Fraud department.
  • Develop and implement the Strategic Plan and quarterly reporting to the Board of Directors.
  • Assist with contract negotiations.
  • Grants - Participate in the research and application process, including preparing necessary reports as required by the Grantor(s), and track grant funds.
  • Manage and track CDFI requirements for recertification.
  • Periodically travel to branches.
  • Attend conferences pertinent to the position.

**Supervisory Responsibilities:** Directly supervise employees in the Accounting and Debit Card/Fraud Department.

**Qualifications:**

  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Email, Texting, Microsoft Teams, Main Street check ordering, Kbase, SimplifyIt, Debt card software, check scanning, accounting software, Inventory software, Project management software, Database software, Order processing software, and Timeclock software.
  • Education/Experience: BS/BA Degree and/or 5 years experience in a related field.
  • Knowledge of Federal Rules and Regulations is preferred.
  • Certificates and Licenses: CPA or experience with financial institutions.
