The Senior Patient Access Coordinator exemplifies exceptional customer service skills while managing all operational tasks within a designated area, which includes welcoming patients, scheduling appointments, and registering individuals for medical services.

The Senior Patient Access Coordinator is responsible for greeting patients, gathering necessary patient details, ensuring the accuracy of registration information, verifying insurance coverage, inputting data into relevant systems, collecting co-payments when applicable, and providing assistance with financial counseling and clearance as needed.

This position encompasses all responsibilities of the Patient Access Representative role as required.

Qualifications for Employment:

Essential:
At least one (1) year of experience in patient scheduling or registration within a healthcare environment.
Demonstrated strong customer service abilities and a patient-centered approach in all interactions.

Educational Background:

Essential:
High school diploma or equivalent qualification.

Preferred:
Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution.

Independent Responsibilities:

Capable of covering all Patient Access functions within the department or clinic.
Operates independently to complete routine tasks.
Responsible for training and orienting new staff members in the service area.
Immediately informs the supervisor of any issues related to policy violations.
Job duties may involve access to and/or interaction with medications and related supplies.

Supervisory Duties (if applicable):

Provides training, guidance, and support in the onboarding process for new team members.

Additional Requirements:
Depending on the designated area, may be required to work non-standard hours, including weekends and holidays.
May be considered essential staffing based on the assigned area.
