As a Senior Environmental Scientist, you will play a critical role in ensuring environmental regulations are met while promoting sustainable transportation projects. Your responsibilities may include managing projects, collaborating with regulators, coordinating with clients, and mentoring others. You will work closely with engineers, architects, and urban planners to integrate environmental considerations into project designs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Regulatory Compliance: Navigate federal, state, and local regulations, liaise with agencies, and stay updated on evolving environmental laws.
  • Public Engagement and Outreach: Organize public meetings, gather community input, communicate project details transparently, and effectively engage stakeholders.
  • Collaboration and Interdisciplinary Work: Engage with cross-functional teams to integrate environmental considerations into project designs.
  • Project Management: Oversee transportation projects from start to finish, manage timelines, budgets, and deliverables, and coordinate with subconsultants, clients, and agencies.
  • Field Work: Conduct field observations and site visits to ensure compliance and effectiveness.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, urban planning, or biological/scientific discipline.
  • 10+ years of environmental experience.
  • 5+ years of transportation project experience.
  • Solid work ethic, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently.
  • Strong communication and technical writing skills.
  • Passion for guiding, training, and passing on knowledge to colleagues.

Salary: The estimated salary range for this position is $103,840 to $155,760+, commensurate with experience relative to the position.
