Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Disaster Management Coordinator - Environmental Specialist to join our team at AC Disaster Consulting. As a key member of our disaster recovery team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective management of debris operations and environmental compliance within disaster-affected areas.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced professional to work on the front lines of disaster response and recovery. As a Disaster Management Coordinator - Environmental Specialist, you will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing all aspects of debris collection, reduction, disposal, and recycling operations, while ensuring strict adherence to environmental regulations and permitting processes.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with environmental permitting and contract compliance related to debris operations.
  • Support contractors and municipalities with Cultural and Archaeological Resource permitting and contract compliance.
  • Aid in wetland jurisdictional determinations, state land records, and any additional environmental resource permitting requirements.
  • Coordinate and oversee all aspects of debris collection, reduction, disposal, and recycling operations.
  • Collaborate with local governments, contractors, and stakeholders to facilitate efficient and compliant debris management efforts.
  • Ensure accurate documentation, cost tracking, and reporting to support FEMA reimbursement.
  • Conduct safety briefings, monitor work zones for compliance, and manage on-site activities to ensure safety and quality standards.
  • Provide regular project updates and status reports to management and stakeholders as required.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in environmental science, public administration, or a related field is required.
  • At least one year of project management experience.
  • Minimum Two years experience working with FEMA Public Assistance regulations.
  • Proven experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in disaster debris management, including FEMA-funded project experience. Knowledge of state and federal environmental permitting required.

Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $45-$50 per hour, commensurate with experience, plus benefits for regular status positions. Temporary positions are not benefits eligible except where required by law.
