Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Compliance Analyst to join our team at the City of New York. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting professional organizational research to promote efficiencies for reaching compliance goals for all ORCAs compliance and audit initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have a master's degree in a relevant field and one year of satisfactory full-time professional experience in budget administration, accounting, economic or financial administration, or fiscal or economic research. Alternatively, a baccalaureate degree and three years of experience in a related area will also be considered.

The Compliance Analyst will work closely with internal and external partners to ensure that DHS facilities comply with statutory, regulatory and contractual obligations governing the provision of shelter in New York City.

The successful candidate will have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect, analyze, interpret and present data to provide feedback to ORCA staff, supervisors and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct professional organizational research to promote efficiencies for reaching compliance goals for all ORCAs compliance and audit initiatives
  • Propose and assist with trainings for shelter providers, DHS and ORCA staff
  • Collect, analyze, interpret and present data to provide feedback to ORCA staff, supervisors and other stakeholders
  • Support staff implementing ORCA initiatives
  • Assist onboarding new staff regarding the Inspection Report process
  • Support staff in ensuring quality compliance responses from shelter providers and DHS stakeholders
  • Create ad hoc queries and reports from relevant data sources
  • Provide feedback to staff, executives and other stakeholders regarding the inspection reports
  • Research the need for and create procedures and manuals for all of the tasks of ORCAs major Initiatives
  • Conduct onsite inspections of DHS and provider-managed shelters to ensure compliance with oversight regulations

Work Schedule: 9:00AM-5:00PM

Qualifications:

  • A master's degree from an accredited college or university in economics, finance, accounting, business or public administration, human resources management, management science, operations research, organizational behavior, industrial psychology, statistics, personnel administration, labor relations, psychology, sociology, human resources development, political science, urban studies or a closely related field
  • One year of satisfactory full-time professional experience in one or a combination of the following: working with the budget of a large public or private concern in budget administration, accounting, economic or financial administration, or fiscal or economic research; or in management or methods analysis, operations research, organizational research or program evaluation; or in personnel or public administration, recruitment, position classification, personnel relations, labor relations, employee benefits, staff development, employment program planning/administration, labor market research, economic planning, social services program planning/evaluation, or fiscal management; or in a related area
