Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll General Ledger Compliance Specialist to join our team. This role will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and compliance of payroll general ledger postings and account reconciliations within the Payroll Department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a solid understanding of general ledger rules and payroll accounting
  • Process and post weekly payroll general ledgers for all dealerships
  • Post HSA, FSA, 401k, taxes, and garnishment expenses
  • Complete weekly payroll schedule and balance sheet reconciliation
  • Complete weekly cash reconciliation
  • Validate weekly commission
  • Complete weekly audit and compliance
  • Prepare and post month-end accruals
  • Conduct wage comparison reconciliation
  • Facilitate outstanding check processes
  • Review and process payroll GLs for each platform, including the corporate office
  • Perform monthly reconciliations
  • Perform monthly reporting to Corporate Finance Department
  • Follow payroll accounting standards
  • Reconcile and post all ACH and wire transfers from payment services
  • Work with the Controllers on any GL issues, changes, or concerns
  • Practice continuous improvement
Requirements
  • Minimum of one year in an accounting role required
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Solid understanding of general ledger rules and payroll accounting
  • Acute attention to detail, process, and organization
  • Intermediate Excel and MS Office skills
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
