Job Summary

As a key member of our accounting team, you will assist in maintaining a complete and accurate general ledger and preparing financial reports. Your responsibilities will include recording journal entries, performing variance analysis, and account reconciliations. You will also process reports to support account details and assist field personnel with issues and questions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure general ledger accounts are maintained in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Prepare and enter journal entries, perform account reconciliations, and assist field personnel with account analysis and research
  • Evaluate trends, identify and investigate unusual or unexpected account variances
  • Generate daily and monthly reports to support the above duties
  • Make recommendations to resolve issues and make corrections as necessary
  • Assist with the monthly close process
  • Perform other accounting research as needed
  • Prepare sales tax returns and make all payments
  • Perform bank reconciliations
  • Verify transactions from electronic sales systems
  • Promote teamwork between operational groups and departments
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Basic knowledge of general ledger accounting concepts, practices, and procedures
  • PeopleSoft experience preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented with excellent computer skills, especially with Excel
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong work ethic and teamwork abilities
Work Environment
  • Work performed in a typical office environment
  • Ability to travel as needed, up to 15%
