Job Overview

Danfoss LLC is looking for a Maintenance Buyer/Planner to join our team. This role is crucial in providing support to the maintenance department by managing, enhancing, and optimizing the preventative and predictive maintenance initiatives. The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely procurement and delivery of necessary components.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee workforce management, including daily support, scheduling for in-house repairs, and managing overtime and weekend work.
- Prioritize and plan maintenance work orders on a daily basis, focusing on urgent safety-related tasks.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of spare parts; identify and procure required components while keeping an organized tracking system.
- Assist in the training and development of maintenance personnel to meet production needs.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify maintenance needs and potential issues.
- Utilize established tracking systems and repair protocols to restore equipment to operational status.
- Enhance planning methodologies for the preventative maintenance program.
- Analyze equipment failure patterns and communicate findings to management for further investigation.
- Generate and review maintenance reports through automated systems; create and distribute scheduled maintenance work orders.
- Ensure compliance with all mandated maintenance regulations within specified timelines.
- Review and prioritize the master maintenance schedule and work orders, considering parts and material availability.
- Allocate materials strategically to minimize equipment downtime.
- Ensure that suppliers deliver materials, supplies, and services in alignment with both internal and external customer needs.
- Manage supplier relationships to ensure high quality and timely delivery of products.
- Execute a systematic approach to release, expedite, and review maintenance needs to support manufacturing operations.
- Drive efforts to reduce part shortages through effective delivery management.
- Provide forecasting data to suppliers based on production schedules as necessary.
- Monitor inventory levels to meet Days of Inventory on Hand (DOH) objectives.
- Support the timely resolution of material deviations and manage the return of defective parts to vendors.
- Address supplier invoicing issues to ensure prompt payments.
- Lead initiatives for supplier performance enhancement.

Qualifications & Skills
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • At least 1 year of experience in procurement or planning.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience in planning and scheduling within a manufacturing context.
  • Familiarity with MRP systems, particularly SAP and Mfg/Pro.
  • In-depth understanding of materials planning and inventory management processes.
  • Strong negotiation capabilities.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members.
  • Proficient in using computer systems and software for production data analysis.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to follow complex instructions and procedures.
