Job Overview

As a key member of the Unity Health team, the Physical Therapist is responsible for delivering exceptional patient care in alignment with established hospital protocols and standards.


Qualifications:

Applicants must possess a minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program, which includes a supervised clinical internship to prepare for professional licensure. A valid license to practice physical therapy in the State of Arkansas is mandatory.


Experience:

New hires will undergo one to three months of on-the-job training to familiarize themselves with departmental protocols.


Essential Skills:

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to perform the duties of a licensed physical therapist while adhering to the specific responsibilities of the Rehabilitative Services Department. A professional demeanor with minimal supervision is expected.

Individuals currently using medical marijuana, even with a valid medical marijuana card, will not be eligible for employment in safety-sensitive roles.


Key Responsibilities:

The Physical Therapist will:

  • Uphold patient care standards in accordance with hospital regulations.
  • Collaborate with medical staff on policies and procedures related to patient care.
  • Oversee the work of Physical Therapy Assistants and therapy aides.
  • Foster positive relationships with other departments and nursing staff to enhance patient care quality.
  • Engage directly with patients across all age groups, alongside physicians, rehabilitation associates, nursing staff, and social workers.
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in the procurement and maintenance of necessary equipment for therapy procedures.
  • Manage patient scheduling and billing processes.

Physical Requirements:

The role necessitates the ability to lift and transport equipment, supplies, and materials. Physical Therapists will assist patients with positioning and transfers as required for specific treatment plans. Effective communication skills are essential for conveying instructions and information to patients and team members. Visual acuity is necessary to monitor patient responses to treatment and to interpret instructions.
