Electrical Design Engineer for Rocket Engines

At Blue Origin, we're pushing the boundaries of space exploration and development of reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems. We're seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our team and contribute to the design and development of electrical systems for our rocket engines.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop electrical systems for rocket engines, including analog instrumentation measurement circuits and actuator circuits for solenoids and electromechanical servo systems.
  • Interpret systems engineering and quality requirements as they apply to electrical product development.
  • Develop circuits, boards, and rugged electronic hardware assemblies across the entire product life-cycle, including concept and requirements definition, design, prototyping, verification, and release to production.
  • Support risk analyses, failure modes effects and criticality analyses (FMECA), design for test/manufacture/cost (DFx), and root-cause analysis of test discrepancies.
  • Lead small teams and present program status and issues.
Qualifications:
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related field with 2 years of direct experience in electronics hardware development.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership in guiding project teams, making design decisions, and mentoring other engineers.
  • Direct hands-on experience with analog, digital circuit design, analysis, test, and debug.
  • Expert knowledge of Op-Amp circuits as applied to instrumentation measurements, including scaling, active filters, and current to voltage conversion.
  • Knowledge of signal integrity, power, grounding, and general board layout principles.
  • Highly organized teammate with excellent technical skills (written and verbal).
  • Experience with data anomaly review and system troubleshooting in a lab or test environment.
