Position Overview:
The Dietitian at Southcentral Foundation (SCF) plays a crucial role in assessing, designing, executing, and overseeing the dietary needs of individual clients or customer-owners. This role also includes delivering nutrition-centered educational programs within the community.
The Dietitian collaborates as part of various Integrated Care Teams, engaging with provider teams, referral sources, and customer-owners to enhance the customer experience and elevate the quality of care provided.
This position is structured into two (2) levels, allowing for progressively more responsible and autonomous work experiences. Advancement between levels is contingent upon the demonstrated capability to manage increasingly responsible tasks.
Qualifications:
SCF is dedicated to serving a primary demographic of Alaska Native individuals associated with Cook Inlet Region, Inc. (CIRI) and Alaska Native and American Indian populations within SCF's service area. A comprehensive understanding of the cultures and needs of this community is essential.
This knowledge is vital to fulfilling SCF's vision of a Native Community that experiences holistic wellness—physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual—and its mission of collaborating with the Native Community to promote wellness through health and related services:
- Must hold a valid Dietitian license in the State of Alaska.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
- Additional certifications such as ACLS, NRP, ATLS, ALSO, and PALS may be required based on specialty and scope of practice.
Additional Qualifications for Registered Dietitian II:
At least three (3) years of professional experience as a Registered Dietitian.
Possession of one advanced certification from the following or as approved by the Administrator:
- Diabetes Care and Education Specialist
- Board Certified-Advanced Diabetes Management
- Board Certified Specialists in Pediatric Nutrition
- Board Certified Specialist in Weight Management
- Certified Nutrition Support Clinician
- International Board of Lactation Consultant
- Certified Lactation Counselor
Employee Health Requirements:
Compliance with SCF's Employee Health Procedure is a prerequisite for employment.
Employees must agree to adhere to all job-related health screenings and immunizations prior to commencing employment.
Positions classified as Health Care Personnel (HCP) require documentation of completed immunizations before starting work, including MMR (Measles, Mumps, and Rubella), Varicella (Chicken Pox), Hepatitis B, Influenza, T-dap (Tetanus - Diphtheria - Pertussis), and COVID-19 vaccination.
