Job Summary

Baker Roofing Company is seeking a highly skilled Commercial Roofing Superintendent to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of our roofing crew, ensuring that projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, and oversee the daily activities of the roofing crew, including designating material staging areas and overseeing the installation of roofing systems.
  • Supervise and train crew personnel, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to complete projects safely and efficiently.
  • Monitor and maintain job site cleanliness and daily housekeeping, ensuring that the work area is safe and free from hazards.
  • Plan ahead and monitor needs daily to avoid running out of materials, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Communicate with the project manager and other stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress and any issues that may arise.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in construction management or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in commercial roofing, with a proven track record of successfully leading a team and managing projects.
  • Strong knowledge of safety procedures and protocols, with the ability to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a team of employees.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and quality.
Physical Demands
  • Requires standing up for long periods of time, with frequent walking, climbing, and lifting.
  • Requires use of ladders, scaffolds, and stairways, with exposure to extreme temperatures and weather conditions.
  • Requires ability to lift, carry, and maneuver heavy materials and equipment, with frequent bending, stooping, and kneeling.
Work Environment
  • Requires working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with frequent deadlines and changing priorities.
  • Requires exposure to noise, dust, and other environmental hazards, with a focus on maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Requires ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and quality.
