Position Summary

The Engineering Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily activities of maintenance personnel and tradespeople during assigned shifts, focusing on corrective, emergency, and preventive maintenance tasks.


Key Responsibilities

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Foster an environment that encourages guests to choose Hard Rock Casino Bristol for their entertainment needs; actively engage in building and maintaining guest relationships while mentoring team members to deliver exceptional service.
  • Direct and allocate tasks to Engineers, ensuring projects are completed on schedule.
  • Conduct regular inspections at both on-site and off-site locations.
  • Compile technical documentation and maintain required logbooks.
  • Stay informed about relevant fire, health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as applicable local, state, and national codes.
  • Respond promptly to emergency situations.
  • Collaborate with relevant departments on maintenance and modification projects to minimize guest disruptions.
  • Supervise the maintenance and repair of Casino facilities and equipment.
  • Provide instruction and training to team members as necessary.
  • Comply with all Casino Policies and Procedures.
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and hazard-free work environment within the area of responsibility.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.
  • Maintain positive relations with the public and interact appropriately with internal departments.
  • Execute other assigned tasks as needed.

SECONDARY DUTIES

  • Participate in seminars as required.

Qualifications

A high school diploma or trade school certification is preferred. A minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of experience in commercial or industrial facilities maintenance is preferred, with experience in a casino environment being strongly favored.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must obtain and maintain all necessary licenses and certifications as per Federal, State, and Virginia Lottery regulations.
  • Successful completion of a background check is required.
  • Must pass a drug screening.
  • Candidate must be at least twenty-one (21) years old.
  • Availability to work on holidays and weekends, along with flexible shifts, is essential.
  • Prior experience in launching new properties or outlets is highly desirable.

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

  • Ability to read and interpret safety regulations, maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
  • Skill in creating and interpreting documents such as schematics, blueprints, and construction drawings.
  • Proficient in writing routine reports and correspondence.
  • Effective communication skills for addressing large groups of guests or team members.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Flexibility to work various shifts and schedules as needed.
  • Strong communication skills with all levels of employees and guests.
  • Ability to train team members as required.
  • Capacity to remain composed in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to present a professional image while demonstrating enthusiasm and an outgoing personality.
  • Experience working with a variety of power tools, saws, drills, planers, and air tools, as well as basic hand tools.
  • Competence in reviewing and understanding necessary documentation.
  • Ability to read blueprints effectively.
  • Occasional work in elevated or precarious locations, such as roofs or scaffolding, may be required.
  • Efficient response to service calls is essential.
