Full-time Superintendent role: East Coast

Reporting to the Director of Construction, the Superintendent is the lead role on Russco’s job sites. As the Company’s primary on-site representative, they are a critical part of the team responsible for independently leading subcontractors while coordinating all construction activity in the field, interfacing with all project team members (architects, engineers, vendors, client and landlord representatives, etc), and ensuring that the project is delivered within its schedule and financial goals.

The Superintendent is the Project Manager’s primary day-to-day liaison, ensuring that they proactively communicate consistent, accurate, and thorough daily updates (including completing daily reports, maintaining daily project photos, etc), while ensuring they present thoughtful strategies to mitigate potential risks. It will be important for them to maintain a thorough working knowledge of subcontracts and client contracts qualifications so that projects are delivered according to all contractual obligations.

Upon joining the Russco, Superintendents will be paired with a mentor and have main points of contact within each department to help with their on-boarding: estimating/bidding, project management, accounting, internal operations. Points of contact will engage with the Superintendent to provide exposure and context on how their roles fit into the Russco workflow. Superintendents will be expected to demonstrate their learnings consistently and independently by applying them to daily business needs. Successful growth in this role will be exhibited through self-accountability, measurable results, and approach to work with emotional intelligence.

Responsibilities will include, but not limited to the following:

• Maintain job site safety implementing and enforcing all applicable regulatory and Company requirements, maintaining consistent weekly on-site safety and project coordination meetings, obtaining and posting all required permits, licenses, and other required job and regulatory related notices
• Partner with Project Manager to establish, plan, and review quality control procedures, field office location, layout, temporary utilities, staging areas, equipment, and manpower
• Maintain complete knowledge and understanding of client/general contracts, subcontracts, and all contract documents (drawings, specifications, addenda, etc)
• Consistently and thoroughly inspect all work over the course of construction ensuring it is executed in accordance with contractual requirements and holding accountability for al parties to perform remedial work if necessary
• Proactively assist the Project Manager(s) to identify potential risks (ie design deficiencies, impractical details, possible code violations, etc) along with providing proposed options for mitigation
• Consistently communicate schedule and budget updates with the Project Manager to ensure all necessary reporting is accurate and true, including timely recording and submission of project expenses and employee expense reports
• Review and approve subcontractor monthly payment requests, invoices, time and material costs, etc. prior to forwarding to Project Manager
• Demonstrate working knowledge through direct exposure to industry standard technology including Viewpoint Team, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excle, PowerPoint, Teams), Box, SmartSheet, Blue Beam, Plangrid, and others
