Certified Respiratory Care Specialist

As a vital member of the healthcare team, the Respiratory Therapist will be responsible for delivering exceptional respiratory care to patients. This role involves working collaboratively within a clinical setting to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the quality of respiratory services provided to patients.
- Establish a direct, one-on-one therapeutic relationship with patients to ensure personalized care.
- Act as a knowledgeable resource for respiratory care inquiries and challenges.
- Continuously monitor and assess patient conditions to adjust ventilatory support as necessary.
- Conduct patient education sessions to enhance understanding of respiratory therapies.
- Maintain and sanitize respiratory equipment to uphold safety standards.
Specific Duties Include:
- Administering various respiratory therapies and documenting in patient records.
- Initiating oxygen and aerosol treatments as prescribed.
- Providing instruction on the use of Incentive Spirometry and Peak Flow Monitoring devices.
- Ensuring adequate supply levels of respiratory therapy materials for each shift.
- Performing quality control and maintenance checks on Blood Gas Analyzers.
- Executing arterial blood gas punctures and managing related documentation.
- Conducting routine ventilator assessments every four hours and as needed.
- Carrying out sputum induction procedures and sleep studies.
- Evaluating airway stability for tracheotomy patients every four hours.
- Ensuring all respiratory devices are in proper working order.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated expertise in respiratory care practices.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required.
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- CPR certification is mandatory.
- A minimum of three years of experience in adult respiratory care is preferred.
