The Forest Stewards Guild is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to serve as the Southeast Region Coordinator. This is a full-time position that will support the growth of the Guild's presence in the Southern Appalachian Mountains through member engagement, outreach, and education.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement outreach and education strategies to promote ecological forestry practices in the region.
- Engage and serve current members while attracting new members through various events and activities.
- Assist with training and capacity building for Guild field crews and youth corps participants.
- Coordinate events, workshops, and field trips to promote forest stewardship and community engagement.
- Represent the Guild at collaborative partnership meetings, events, and conferences.
- Conduct field work to support ecological monitoring and forest restoration projects.
- Manage project workflow and collaborate with a team using software such as Asana, Slack, SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams.
- Bachelor's degree in a natural resources or environmental science related field or related experience.
- Knowledge and experience in eastern forest ecosystems and communities.
- Experience with graphic design and producing print and digital media content.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work both independently and with a team.
- Competency with Microsoft Office software.
- Experience using Adobe Creative Suite design software.
- Valid driver's license.
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a natural resources, environmental science or related field.
- Experience implementing, inspecting, and/or monitoring forest restoration projects.
- Competency with using Esri ArcGIS.
- Experience, interest, or qualifications in prescribed fire.
- Experience with website design and management.
- Experience with membership recruitment and engagement.
