Job Summary

This position is responsible for supporting the New Mexico Department of Health's efforts to promote health equity and improve population health outcomes in the northeastern region of the state. The successful candidate will work closely with internal and external partners to develop and implement health-related activities that address the needs of local communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement health promotion programs and initiatives that address health equity issues and improve population health outcomes.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to identify and address health disparities and promote health equity.
  • Provide training and technical assistance to community groups and organizations on health promotion and health equity topics.
  • Assess community readiness and develop strategies to address health disparities and promote health equity.
  • Facilitate communication and coordination between local, regional, and state entities to promote health equity and improve population health outcomes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Public Health or a related field.
  • Two years of experience in a health-related field, including experience working with community groups and organizations.
  • Knowledge of health promotion and health equity principles and practices.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including community groups, organizations, and government agencies.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Working Conditions

This position is based in the northeastern region of New Mexico and requires extensive travel throughout the region. The successful candidate must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in an office setting with extensive use of visual display terminals, personal computers, and phone usage.
