About Four Seasons Resorts Lana'i

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Pool and Beach to join our team at Four Seasons Resorts Lana'i. As a key member of our Food and Beverage division, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the Pool and Beach operation, including food and beverage, retail, activities, and cabana experience.

The Opportunity

The Director of Pool and Beach will work closely with the Assistant Director, Director of Food and Beverage, Executive Chef, and Director of Catering and Conference Services to design an effective menu and beverage list while ensuring excellent product quality at a fair price. They will also attend regular operational meetings to ensure effective coordination and cooperation between departments.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Manage and oversee the Pool and Beach operation, including food and beverage, retail, activities, and cabana experience.
  2. Work closely with the Assistant Director, Director of Food and Beverage, Executive Chef, and Director of Catering and Conference Services to design an effective menu and beverage list.
  3. Attend regular operational meetings to ensure effective coordination and cooperation between departments.
  4. Assist in selecting, training, evaluating, leading, motivating, coaching, and disciplining all employees, supervisors, and assistant managers in the Resort's Pool and Beach departments.
  5. Control labor and operating expenses through effective scheduling, budgeting, purchasing decisions, and inventory and cash control.
  6. Maintain a safe working environment and abide by all health department regulations.

Requirements

  • At least two-three years of department head managerial experience within food and beverage operations at a hotel/resort.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage and support a staff of over 40 employees and managers.
  • Outgoing personality and ability to interact with guests, colleagues, and service providers in a warm and friendly manner.
  • Reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the English language.
  • Previous supervisory or management experience is essential.
  • Thorough knowledge of service, cost control in F&B, labor controls, menu writing, maintenance, and merchandising and accounting.
