Director of Special Event Operations:
We are seeking a Director of Special Event Operations who shares our passion for excellence and enthusiasm for delivering exceptional guest experiences. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to shape our guest experience by providing exceptional knowledge of the Resort and embodying the Golden Rule in every interaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Select, train, evaluate, lead, motivate, coach, and discipline all employees, supervisors, and assistant managers in the Hotel's Banquet Department to ensure that established cultural and core standards are met.
  • Develop and maintain effective lines of communication with all employees, ensuring that everyone is visible in the operation, assists when needed, provides recognition, promotes good public relations, and handles complaints, concerns, or special requests for guests, clients, and group contacts.
  • Coordinate set-up requirements for hotel and off-site functions according to the banquet event orders and review any necessary changes with Catering Managers prior to the event taking place.
  • Connect directly with group contacts once onsite and relay all necessary information to Catering and Conference Services Managers and Banquet management team to ensure that all details of the function are carried out.
  • Facilitate the quality and timeliness of all food items in partnership with the culinary team, providing our guests with knowledge of wine and spirits in an elegantly appointed environment dedicated to an attentive and distinctive experience.
  • Monitor trends in catering/banquets and produce comparison shops, working closely with the Assistant Director of Food & Beverage, Director of Food & Beverage, Executive Chef, and Director of Catering to design an effective menu and wine list while ensuring excellent product quality at a fair price.
  • Attend regular operational meetings to ensure effective coordination and cooperation between departments, understanding and driving labor standards in partnership with Finance, controlling labor and operating expenses through effective scheduling, budgeting, purchasing decisions, and inventory and cash control.
  • Observe the physical condition of facilities and equipment in the banquet area and make recommendations for corrections and improvements as needed, ensuring that follow-up on pending work order tickets is completed in a timely manner so as not to compromise guest experience.

Requirements:
  • Successful candidate must possess legal work authorization in the United States.
  • Ability to accurately read and work with computer systems.
  • College education or equivalent experience.
  • Experience by position is from three to five years of employment in the related position with Four Seasons or other organization.
  • Strong Customer Service skills.
