Position: Practical Nursing Specialist

Salary: $27.50/hr

Flexible scheduling options available, including full-time and part-time roles.

With a manageable patient load compared to typical hospital settings, this position offers an excellent opportunity for LPNs seeking to make a meaningful impact at a comfortable pace.

This role is ideal for those looking to advance their nursing careers while engaging in a dynamic environment filled with rewarding challenges. You will play a crucial role in delivering nursing services, training, and support tailored to the medical and psychiatric needs of individuals facing brain injuries, intellectual and developmental disabilities, substance use disorders, or emotional and behavioral challenges.
  • Oversee the health conditions of individuals and ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Administer medications, maintain accurate documentation, and supervise staff in medication administration.
  • Implement prescribed medical treatments in accordance with physician orders and provide personal care services.
  • Conduct health assessments, implement healthcare services in Individual Service Plans (ISP), and respond to any changes in condition.
  • Train staff on essential topics such as universal precautions, infection control, and medication administration.
  • Act as a liaison and advocate with medical professionals and external agencies to coordinate comprehensive care.
  • Provide educational training for individuals on self-medication, prescribed treatments, and health education topics.
Qualifications:
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing or a related field, or state certification.
  • Minimum of one year of nursing experience with the target population.
  • Current LPN or LVN licensure in the state of residence.
  • Valid driver's license, car registration, and auto insurance.
  • Additional certifications as mandated by state regulations, including CPR/FA and HIV/AIDS certification.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with staff, individuals served, and their families.
