The Events Manager is essential in facilitating the organization and execution of a wide array of events for The San Francisco Standard, a dynamic digital media publisher.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a variety of public gatherings—both in-person and virtual—including panel discussions, exhibitions, celebrations, sponsored series, and conferences.
  • Innovate event concepts in partnership with colleagues across various departments.
  • Oversee all facets of event organization, including maintaining event calendars, timelines, and checklists; liaising with event participants, managing vendors; ensuring timely budgeting; preparing and distributing event materials; and facilitating effective communication with event teams and stakeholders.
  • Act as the primary contact on-site for stakeholders, providing logistical support, resolving issues, and ensuring seamless event execution.
  • Collaborate with marketing and social media teams to devise promotional strategies and materials for events, utilizing diverse channels.
  • Foster relationships with internal and external partners to enhance event visibility and outreach.
  • Address any challenges or emergencies that may arise during events, showcasing adaptability and problem-solving abilities.
  • Support additional projects and events as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, along with 3+ years of practical experience in planning and executing both in-person and virtual events.
  • Prior experience in event production, including setup, audio, and video is highly preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively and manage relationships.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational capabilities.
  • Ability to work autonomously, demonstrating sound judgment and initiative.
  • Effectively operate under pressure and adhere to stringent schedules while delivering accurate results for multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in event management software and marketing tools.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and irregular hours as necessitated by event schedules.

This position requires in-person attendance, with regular commitments during evenings or weekends. A competitive compensation package and benefits are offered.

The salary range for this position is $75,000 to $110,000. Actual compensation packages are determined based on various factors unique to each candidate.
