Salary Schedule

Position Overview

The Vice President for University Advancement (VP) plays a pivotal role in shaping the vision and direction of University Advancement, aligning efforts with the university's strategic goals. Reporting directly to the president, the VP is responsible for orchestrating fundraising initiatives and enhancing alumni relations, working collaboratively with various stakeholders to drive institutional success.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership

  • Provide strategic guidance and support to the president in her capacity as the chief spokesperson and fundraiser, assisting in the cultivation of prospective donors and the solicitation of significant contributions.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders, volunteers, and faculty to ensure effective engagement in development activities, fostering a productive and rewarding environment.

Program Development & Oversight

  • Evaluate the fundraising capabilities of the university and develop a comprehensive, multi-year strategy to enhance philanthropic support.
  • Design and implement a cohesive advancement program that reflects best practices in the industry.

Campaign Leadership

  • Oversee the planning and execution of comprehensive fundraising campaigns, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities.
  • Facilitate the integration of philanthropic contributions with research and service grants.

Community Engagement

  • Work alongside the president and executive cabinet to craft compelling messaging that highlights the university's unique strengths and aspirations.

Team Management

  • Foster a supportive and organized environment for the University Advancement team, establishing clear objectives and priorities.
  • Manage the budget for University Advancement, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to meet fundraising and engagement goals.

Qualifications

  • A profound commitment to the mission and vision of the University of California.
  • A proven track record in cultivating and managing relationships with major philanthropic partners.
  • Demonstrated success in building and sustaining a comprehensive fundraising operation.

Education and Experience

  • A minimum of ten years of progressively responsible experience in fundraising and management.
  • Extensive experience in planning and executing successful fundraising campaigns.

Compensation

The anticipated compensation range for this role is $200K-$250K. The University of California offers a comprehensive benefits package to enhance the employment experience.
