Job Summary

The Warehouse Operations Manager will work closely with the Distribution Center management and Shift Lead to oversee the daily operations of the warehouse. This includes managing the inventory, ensuring accurate and efficient order fulfillment, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Organize and execute the distribution center's workload to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
  • Recognize and implement opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, and quality.
  • Coordinate with management to resolve issues and escalate concerns as needed.
  • Monitor and review daily performance reports to ensure compliance with KPI metrics.
  • Develop and implement strategies to minimize shipping errors.
  • Utilize 5S and Continuous Improvement methodology to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Oversee the quality and cleanliness of the work areas and equipment.
  • Assist in the development and training of employees on standard work instructions.
  • Facilitate daily Gemba walks, stand-up meetings, and shift change meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Employee Responsibilities
  • Assist site management with employee-related issues and questions.
  • Escalate issues to management as needed.
  • Provide input to performance evaluations and partner with management to deliver timely and constructive evaluations.
  • Make recommendations for corrective action and assist in administering corrective action.
  • Participate in interviews and conduct site tours for job applicants.
  • Help to onboard new hires.
  • Partner with other department leads to cross-train employees.
  • Engage with team members to gather feedback and identify opportunities for improvement.
Safety Responsibilities
  • Follow and administer all safety, environmental, and regulatory guidelines and rules.
  • Ensure the use of required safety equipment and personal protective equipment.
  • Promptly address safety issues and coach team members on safety expectations.
  • Maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal DOT regulations.
  • Report near misses in a timely manner.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a high school degree or equivalent, with experience in a dynamic distribution environment. They will possess solid verbal and written communication skills, as well as demonstrated computer skills and working knowledge of warehouse management systems.

The candidate will also have the ability to operate motorized material handling equipment and possess the physical stamina to perform the duties of the role.
