With numerous field offices across Arizona and a central office in Downtown Phoenix, DCS employs over 2,800 professionals united by the vision of fostering environments where children can thrive, free from abuse and neglect.
CASE AIDE - RECORDS ASSISTANT
This role involves collaborating with the case management team to provide essential services to families and children involved in various social service programs. A typical day for a DCS Case Aide-Records Assistant may include:
- Managing and organizing case files, ensuring proper documentation and purging of outdated records.
- Handling electronic case records within a computer-based Case Management System, including redactions and disclosures of court documents.
- Supervising visitation meetings between clients (parents and children) to ensure a safe environment.
- Assisting DCS Case Managers with various clerical tasks, including filing, disclosures, and case notes.
- Entering detailed case notes into the computer-based Case Management System.
- Transporting children to appointments as required for state business.
- Aiding clients with application processes as necessary.
- Participating in meetings and client hearings as requested.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Ideal candidates will possess knowledge of:
- Computer systems and software (Microsoft Office Suite), mobile devices, digital calendars, and video conferencing tools.
Skills in:
- Building and maintaining interpersonal relationships.
- Performing general clerical functions such as data entry and filing.
- Effective verbal and written communication.
- Gathering and eliciting information.
- Demonstrating professional behavior with clients.
- Time management and multitasking.
- Observational skills.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must have:
- A high school diploma or GED.
- A valid Arizona issued driver's license.
- A Level One Fingerprint Clearance card from Arizona.
Successful candidates will undergo a background investigation and a DCS Central Registry check. If driving is a requirement of the position, candidates must maintain an acceptable driving record and complete any necessary driver training.
