Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medication Coordinator II to join our team at DePaul's residential mental health program in Henrietta, NY. As a Medication Coordinator II, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective management of medications for our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership for medication-related systems, adhering to DePaul's policies, training, and standards.
  • Supervise Medication Coordinators I and provide medication-related training for new employees in coordination with the Residential Supervisor.
  • Process all incoming client medications, including checking labels for accuracy, completing proper documentation, and storing medications according to DePaul's standards and NYS Office of Mental Health regulations.
  • Process incoming prescriptions, medication orders, and updates client charts, as well as the Medication Administration Record (MAR), when new medications or change orders are prescribed.
  • Inventory all medications and required supplies weekly to identify medications that need to be ordered.
  • Ensure that prescriptions are refilled as needed and request standing order prescriptions as necessary.
  • Track and oversee the medication ordering and supply process to ensure medications are on site without interruptions to the medication regimen.
  • Act as a liaison with residents, doctors, pharmacies, providers, and residential staff as necessary to ensure timely and accurate ordering of medications and appointment scheduling.
  • Oversee the supervision of all residents' medications in accordance with physician's orders, DePaul's Policy, and NYS Office of Mental Health regulations.
  • Monitor the medication-related documentation weekly for accuracy and completeness and address areas of need with the Site Supervisor.
  • Report significant issues regarding client medications to the Residential Supervisor.
  • Responsible for overseeing the monitoring and documentation of all residents involved in the self-medication process.
  • Respect and maintain resident confidentiality and demonstrate a caring, positive attitude towards all residents, family members, staff, guests, and service providers.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma required; Advanced educational degree preferred.
  • One-year experience working with people with mental illness preferred.
  • Demonstrated prior medication management experience required.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills with experience interfacing with medical personnel and adherence to protocols.
  • Employee Supervision experience preferred.
Work Environment

This full-time position is Monday-Friday, 9:30am-6pm.
