Westwood Ridge II is seeking a highly skilled and experienced MDS Coordinator - RN to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring charting and reimbursement for patients or residents receiving Inclusive Insurance and Medicare.
Key Responsibilities:- Monitor charting and reimbursement for patients or residents receiving Inclusive Insurance and Medicare.
- Ensure admission paperwork is prepared and/or Electronic Medical Record is accurately completed by the designated IDT member.
- Act as a primary trainer for the MDS and care planning process.
- Assist in the completion of the MDSs as assigned by supervisor.
- Current experience with completion of MDS/CAA's, care planning, transmissions, and error follow-up.
- Current experience with Medicare/PDPM requirements.
- ICD-10 coding experience.
- Work with corporate finance team and insurance carriers with billing issues, appeals, insurance claims.
- Graduate of an RN/LPN accredited school of nursing with a current active RN/LPN license in the State of Minnesota.
- Previous long-term care experience.
- Current experience with Medicare PPS.
- Collect, organize, and analyze data.
- Work independently with efficient time management skills, as well as a team player.
- Responsible for the completion of the RAI process for assigned residents.
- Maintain technical and professional competency by attending webinars, seminars, and appropriate conferences.
- Demonstrate professional and courteous conduct with all customers, including residents, family members, visitors, physicians, vendors, staff, etc.
- Attend appropriate staff meetings/in-services as mandated by federal, state, and Westwood Ridge II standards.
- Knowledge and compliance of federal, state, Westwood Ridge II, and community rules and regulations as well as policies and procedures.
- Upholds professional standards published by the Minnesota Board of Nursing.
- Knowledge and compliance with state and federal resident and employee privacy rules, regulations, and laws.
- Knowledge and compliance with community policies and procedures on resident and employee privacy, dissemination records, and consents.
- Teaches and trains new and existing staff on the RAI process, MDS completion, and supporting software use.
- Participates in the Quality Improvement process for the community and the company.
- Maintain clear communication with immediate supervisor, DON, and Administrator and other appropriate parties regarding significant information.
- Complete the MDS, CAAs, and care plan in accordance with state and federal requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
