Job Description

Amazon Services LLC is seeking a highly skilled Senior Risk Manager to join our team in the Controls Optimization & Management, Process Automation, and Solutions Support (COMPASS) department. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting Worldwide Consumer controllership processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process Enhancement: Support projects to improve WW Consumer controllership processes related to owned and leased asset management and tracking, procurement, inventory, OPEX, and unearned revenue.
  • Framework Maintenance: Functionally maintain the Consumer Controllership Framework; Objectives, Risks and Controls.
  • Risk Posture Establishment: Establish a risk posture and mechanisms to rate risks within the consumer organization.
  • Collaboration and Mitigation: Partner with related finance and business and technology teams to mitigate identified controls risks.
  • Control Defect Tracking: Track control defects, partner with business teams to conduct deep dives on defects and offer near-term and long-term solutions to close identified gaps.
  • Controls Self-Assessment: Define and deliver a Controls Self-Assessment for your assigned functional areas.
  • Process Improvement: Drive controllership in WW Consumer processes, partnering with process excellence teams to minimize process inefficiencies and improve data integrity.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive regular continuous improvement, education, and communication initiatives with business partners.
  • Leadership Team Support: Drive consumer leadership team controllership goals across the organization.
  • Team Collaboration: Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration, and commitment across multiple disparate groups with competing priorities.
  • GRC Development: Provide input to the development of Amazon's internal GRC.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, information systems, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of industry experience of increasing responsibility leading teams and driving technology risk management processes, methodologies, and tools.
  • Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of risk management policies, methods, standards, processes, governance models, and risk analysis.
  • Public Accounting Experience: Experience with financial processes, including Fixed Assets/Leases, order to cash, and procure to pay, inventory, Revenue (unearned revenue), ITGCs.
  • Business Risk Analysis: Skilled in business risk analysis and making operational and technical trade-offs between short versus long-term risk mitigation goals.
  • Accounting and Risk Management: Multidisciplinary experience in risk management, program management, and accounting.
  • Professional Certifications: CPA, CFE, CIA, or MBA.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to take ownership, self-motivate, and deliver results in highly ambiguous environments.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level presentations.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to exercise sound judgment, problem solve, and make decisions in complex situations.
  • Business Acumen: Ability to think and innovate at scale.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a startup-like environment.
