Position Overview

The Client Relationship Manager will play a pivotal role in managing client interactions by anticipating their needs and inquiries, conducting thorough research to ensure the employee benefits program aligns with their financial and organizational objectives, and overseeing renewal management with support and insights from senior team members. This role also involves expanding the existing client portfolio, comprehending the client's business landscape, and achieving a retention and satisfaction rating of at least 95%.

Key Responsibilities

Client Service Excellence & Expertise
  • Effectively manage the client service process, ensuring timely responses and adherence to renewal timelines.
  • With guidance from the CE/Producer:
    • Engage in annual meeting preparations by completing relevant sections of reports and conducting necessary research.
  • Retain and grow client accounts by:
    • Drafting and presenting proposals, along with comparative quotes.
    • Conducting program benchmarking, demographic analysis, claims utilization reviews, and financial projections.
    • Offering additional resources as required.
  • Market renewals and new coverage options by:
    • Creating detailed coverage specifications.
    • Evaluating quotes from carriers.
    • Negotiating terms with insurance providers.
    • Preparing and delivering coverage analyses.
  • Review policy coverage to identify cross-selling and additional revenue opportunities.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of client operations, policies, and industry standards.
  • Guide clients through the initial goal-setting process.
  • Analyze data to derive insights and provide recommendations to clients.
  • Address client inquiries and needs, offering sound advice consistently.
  • Produce high-quality deliverables and stay updated on professional standards through participation in educational activities, including webinars and conferences.
  • Communicate legislative, regulatory, and technical updates to clients effectively.
  • Serve clients in accordance with professional service standards, ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Achieve a minimum rating of 90% in audits on all accounts.
  • Maintain functional knowledge of EPIC and ensure timely updates.
  • Allocate sufficient time for peer review of all client deliverables for accuracy prior to submission.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business, Risk Management, Analytics, or a related field is preferred; a high school diploma or GED combined with relevant industry experience may be considered.
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in employee benefits management for medium-sized accounts with significant responsibilities.
  • Demonstrates executive presence and possesses strong interpersonal skills for effective interactions with clients and colleagues.
  • Exhibits sound judgment and critical thinking skills to make informed decisions under pressure.
  • Able to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, fostering a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; able to engage effectively with clients and insurance providers.
  • Excellent organizational skills and financial analysis capabilities.
  • Proficient in the EPIC agency management system and knowledgeable about underwriting requirements and policy provisions.
  • Exhibits strong time management skills; capable of working under pressure to meet deadlines and respond to stakeholder needs.
  • Demonstrates adaptability and the ability to manage multiple tasks while adjusting to changing priorities.
  • Contributes to team efficiency by sharing knowledge and best practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • This role requires a high energy level and the capacity to manage stress effectively.
