Job Overview

Metro Industrial Services is actively seeking Quality Technicians for temporary contract roles. Below are the key responsibilities and qualifications for this position:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducts quality assurance evaluations and assessments on materials, products, components, and processes in accordance with established quality control protocols to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Utilizes various testing equipment and machinery to confirm the reliability of components as necessary, while maintaining precise quality documentation.
  • Oversees all relevant documentation and records associated with daily operations.
  • Directs all rejected materials to designated areas.
  • Examines rejection reports and performs analyses to identify root causes.
  • Communicates any discrepancies regarding non-conformances to management.
  • Assists in the implementation of Statistical Process Controls (SPC) and maintains related reports.
  • Contributes to the establishment of standard process parameters.
  • Delivers necessary training and materials to Operators.
  • Supports Quality Engineering initiatives.
  • Engages in discussions to propose cost reduction strategies and process enhancements.
  • Ensures compliance with Reliability test requirements and verifies the calibration of equipment.
  • Adheres to IATF16949 standards by documenting all relevant activities.
  • Completes any other reasonable requests from management.
  • Promotes a safe, clean, and comfortable work environment in alignment with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, ensuring adherence to the principles of the 5S methodology (simplify, separate, sanitize, standardize, and support).
  • Ensures full compliance with applicable laws while representing the company or utilizing any company-provided equipment.

Compensation:
1st Shift: $17.82/hour
2nd Shift: $18.67/hour
3rd Shift: $18.27/hour
Work Schedule:
1st Shift: Monday - Friday, 6:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
2nd Shift: Monday - Friday, 2:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.
3rd Shift: Sunday - Thursday, 10:00 p.m. - 6:00 a.m.
All shifts require mandatory overtime.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Reliable transportation is essential.
  • Must pass a background check and drug screening (no felonies).
  • 1 to 2 years of experience as a quality technician is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of stamping and welding processes.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in quality containment practices.
  • Familiarity with audits and verification of parts using check fixtures.
