Work Schedule: 2 days per week from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM, including every other weekend.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess the acceptability of specimens for testing based on established criteria.
  • Execute routine and complex technical procedures in accordance with departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments to ensure optimal performance.
  • Exhibit the ability to make informed technical decisions regarding testing and problem resolution.
  • Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.
  • Deliver accurate and timely test results to ensure quality patient care.
  • Conduct and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
  • Identify and restock testing bench supplies as needed.
  • Assist with specimen processing when required.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and utilize appropriate personal protective equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or meet local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirements.
  • A minimum of 1 year of clinical laboratory testing experience is required for the Technologist level.
  • Prior experience is not necessary for the Technologist Trainee level.
  • ASCP or AMT certification is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficient in computer usage; familiarity with laboratory information systems is advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail along with excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screening.
  • Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts based on business needs.
