Job Summary

We're looking for a strategic HR Director to lead and elevate our people operations. This role combines high-level strategic planning with oversight of practical, day-to-day HR management. As our ideal candidate, you'll embody the following qualities in your leadership:

  • Strategic Thinker: You'll contribute to the development and implementation of a comprehensive people strategy that aligns with and supports Harbor Health's mission and long-term business goals.
  • Organizational Effectiveness: You'll optimize organizational structures, processes, and practices to enhance efficiency, productivity, and overall performance across all levels of the company.
  • Collaborative Partner: You'll work closely with other Directors and General Managers to influence department direction, drive decision-making, and ensure HR initiatives support overall business strategy.
  • Operational Excellence: You'll oversee and optimize all HR functions, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and best practices in talent management, compensation, benefits, and HR technology.

This role offers an opportunity to significantly impact our organization's growth trajectory and long-term success. You'll be responsible for shaping our people strategy, driving cultural initiatives, and ensuring we have scalable HR processes and systems in place as we expand.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership:

  • Partner with Chief People Officer to develop and implement a comprehensive people strategy aligned with our business goals and OKRs.
  • Partner with leadership to drive organizational effectiveness and cultural initiatives.

Talent Management:

  • Design and execute innovative talent development and retention strategies.
  • Administer a performance management framework that fosters high performance and engagement.
  • Collaborate with managers to address performance issues and provide guidance on people management.

HR Operations and Compliance:

  • Oversee core HR functions including benefits administration and leave management.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.
  • Maintain up-to-date HR policies, employee handbook, and job descriptions.

Clinician & Teammate Experience:

  • Create programs to enhance engagement and well-being.
  • Conduct exit interviews and analyze trends to drive continuous improvement.
  • Develop and deliver training programs on key HR topics and organizational processes.

HR Systems and Analytics:

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for HRIS and LMS systems.
  • Build and develop People analytics infrastructure.
  • Leverage HR data to provide insights and recommendations to leadership.
  • Drive the adoption of HR technology to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 8+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a fast-paced or startup environment.
  • 3+ years of management experience.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to align HR initiatives with organizational goals.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Proven track record of leading HR transformations and change management initiatives.
  • Analytical mindset with experience using data to drive decision-making.
  • Adaptability and comfort with ambiguity in a rapidly changing environment.
  • High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.
  • Experience in the healthcare industry.
  • Advanced degree or professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR).
  • Experience with high-growth startups.
