Position Overview:

The primary objective of this role is to facilitate customer scoping sessions in alignment with OpenGov's professional services team, focusing on deal strategy, operational efficiency, and informed decision-making. The Solution Consultant will act as a trusted advisor, ensuring that professional services agreements are negotiated to benefit all parties involved while guiding prospects towards the best adoption strategies and minimizing delivery risks through the creation of robust Statements of Work (SOW).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate scoping discussions with clients, identifying their needs for the implementation of OpenGov solutions, articulating the value of Professional Services, and guiding clients towards optimal implementation strategies.
  • Manage project risks and set realistic expectations for service engagements, aiming for maximum return on investment and minimal risk.
  • Oversee the drafting, refinement, and creation of SOWs for professional services projects in collaboration with Customers, Sales Partners, and internal teams such as R&D and Training.
  • Assist in the RFP process concerning implementation scope, providing estimates and relevant content.
  • Continuously manage and enhance the scoping program, utilizing project data to improve accuracy and achieve a profitable balance of services and software revenue.
  • Lead special internal initiatives aimed at scaling and operationalizing the practice, including strategic communication, profitability assessment, and collaboration with delivery teams on existing and new solutions.
  • Quickly adapt to evolving product offerings and respond strategically to customer needs, integrating new product developments into professional services scoping.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in establishing and managing a Professional Services scoping program is preferred.
  • Familiarity with government ERP/accounting systems, budgeting principles, and finance solutions is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of professional services scoping, contracting principles, and negotiation experience; prior contract management experience is advantageous.
  • Expertise in gathering customer requirements, scoping, and drafting professional services agreements.
  • Comfortable leading scoping sessions and engaging with clients to ascertain their requirements.
  • Ability to interpret and effectively communicate issues or objections related to OpenGov professional services projects.
  • Proactive in analyzing and recommending optimal solutions for complex service project structures.
  • Proficient in Salesforce and contract management systems.
  • Experience in a deal desk role or similar, collaborating with customer-facing sales teams in a SaaS environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong emphasis on accuracy and consistency.
  • Experience liaising across various internal departments, including finance, revenue recognition, senior management, product development, sales, and legal teams.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is $99,000 - $110,000 annually, which includes base salary plus potential variable compensation based on individual and company performance. Final compensation will be determined based on qualifications, expertise, and geographical location.
