Position Overview:
The Fund Administration division of U.S.

Bank Global Fund Services (USBGFS) delivers essential services to a diverse and expanding clientele, which encompasses mutual funds, hedge funds, private equity funds, offshore funds, and various investment entities.

In an intricate and ever-evolving legal and regulatory landscape, our clients seek tax professionals who possess a deep understanding of the industry, investment strategies, and client objectives.

Our tax experts at USBGFS serve as trusted advisors, collaborating with clients and accounting firms to devise and implement innovative tax planning strategies that enhance tax efficiency and mitigate risks.

The Tax Compliance Specialist plays a vital role within a dynamic team, dedicated to supporting our clients while also focusing on your professional growth.

As a key team member, you will provide valuable services to investment firms and advisors.

In our role as trusted consultants, we work closely with internal teams, clients, and various accounting firms, including mid-sized, regional, and Big 4 firms.

Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct research on tax regulations and financial reporting standards.
• Prepare IRS Forms 1120-RIC, 8613, 1065, and Schedule K-1s, along with necessary state and local tax forms. Manage the distribution of essential tax documents and supporting schedules to investors and partners.

• Calculate mutual fund taxable income, accounting for book-to-tax discrepancies for fiscal and excise tax purposes, including wash sales, 1256 adjustments, §988 adjustments, PFIC adjustments, and others, to determine taxable income for hedge funds and investment partnerships.

• Assist in the preparation of Form 1099-MISC.
• Provide estimates for income and capital gains/losses, including book-to-tax differences as requested by clients.
• Calculate dividend distributions.

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent professional experience.
• One to two years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Skills/Experience:
• Bachelor's degree required; accounting degree preferred.
• CPA certification or candidacy is advantageous.
• General knowledge of legal, regulatory, and accounting principles in the investment management sector is a plus.
• Flexibility in work hours to meet client needs.
• Demonstrates integrity and ethical behavior, upholding USBGFS' core values and holding others accountable.
• Team-oriented professional, collaborating effectively with colleagues and stakeholders across the organization.
• Proactive, with a willingness to engage in projects and communicate with individuals at all levels.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, with an expectation of in-office work for three or more days per week, while allowing flexibility for remote work on other days.
