About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dosimetrist to join our team at the University of California, Irvine. As a key member of our radiation oncology department, you will play a critical role in generating and administering radiation therapy treatment plans and dose calculations for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Generate and administer radiation therapy treatment plans and dose calculations for patients
  • Collaborate with radiation oncologists and medical physicists to ensure accurate treatment plans
  • Accurately document use of radioactive materials and maintain accurate records
  • Assist in teaching and training students, residents, and physicians in radiation therapy administration and protocols
  • Perform radiation therapy planning functions, including IMRT, 3D conformal, VMAT, SRS, SBRT, HDR Brachytherapy, and image fusion
  • Collaborate with radiation therapists to ensure accurate patient setup and treatment delivery
  • Participate in quality assurance programs and assist in the development of new treatment protocols
Requirements
  • Valid ARRT and CRT for radiation therapy technology or BS in Physics
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with healthcare team members
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to work variable shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Competency in operating modern radiation therapy treatment planning systems and software
  • Working knowledge of relevant billing codes and experience with record-and-verify systems
  • Minimum 3 years' experience working as a Dosimetrist
  • Medical dosimetry certification by MDCB
Preferred Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited School of Radiologic Technology
  • Proficient with VARIAN ECLIPSE treatment planning software and ARIA
  • Bilingual skills in English and Spanish and/or Vietnamese
