Bridge Task Leader/Engineer Job Description

David Evans and Associates is seeking a highly skilled Bridge Task Leader/Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Bridge and Structures group, you will lead and perform technical bridge engineering, and project management on bridge projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and assist in the development of bridge design deliverables, including concept reports, TS&L Reports, design calculations, construction plans, specifications, estimates, and construction schedules.
  • Manage projects to ensure excellence in project execution for on-time, on-budget deliverables of quality that meet or exceed the industry's standard of care.
  • Check engineering calculations, drawings, estimates, specifications, and construction schedule deliverables for accuracy and compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Provide bridge design leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
  • Manage, perform, and deliver condition inspection and reporting of in-service bridges.
  • Manage, development, and check load rating calculations and reports.
  • Participate in client and project development teams.
  • Assist pursuit champions and project managers in the development of proposal documents.
  • Communicate with clients and express the client's needs to project teams.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
  • Minimum 8 years of bridge engineering experience.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of Washington.
  • Proficiency in structural design software applications, with an emphasis on bridge design software, such as SAP2000, Midas Civil, LARSA 4D, PG Super, Conspan, LPile, BRASS.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Physically able to work outside in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Knowledgeable of AASHTO LRFD bridge design standards.
  • Ability to communicate and work in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
  • Registered Structural Engineer (SE) in the state of Washington.
  • Knowledgeable of WSDOT and Sound Transit bridge design standards.
