About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer to lead our engineering teams on large projects. As a key member of our Transportation Team, you will be responsible for preparing designs and ensuring the development and delivery of successful transportation projects, including bridges, highway interchanges, roadway reconstruction, subway stations, railroad infrastructure, and public spaces.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and seal structural/bridge plans as EOR
  • Supervise the work of other structural engineers
  • Liaise with clients, agencies, and others to obtain structural plan approvals
  • Manage and monitor structures team budget
  • Perform tasks on complex projects as SME and act as a technical resource by providing guidance to other team members
  • Prepare technical memos for clients or reviewing agencies
  • Manage client relationships and support business development
Requirements
  • Ability to lead one or more structures teams through all phases of project document production
  • Technical expert in all relevant areas of design and understanding of various design methods
  • Thorough understanding of codes, legal, and design requirements in relevant jurisdictions
  • Proficient in CsiBridge and any other relevant structural design and analysis software
  • Ability to check the work of others for accuracy and completeness and manages time to meet project budget and schedule
  • Understands client expectations, budgeting, proposal writing, invoicing, and collecting accounts receivable
  • Ability to participate and collaborate in project team settings, engage in creative and critical thought, and effectively communicate ideas, design issues, and solutions to others
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Structural Engineering or related field
  • Licensed WA Professional Engineer license, or the ability to obtain a WA PE license. WA Structural Engineer license preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience, WSDOT project experience preferred
