Construction Laborer - Support Skilled Trades

We are currently seeking motivated and reliable Construction Laborers to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting skilled tradespeople by assisting with a range of construction tasks.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist Skilled Tradespeople: Collaborate effectively with carpenters, masons, electricians, plumbers, and HVAC technicians to ensure the smooth execution of construction projects.
  • Material Handling: Load, unload, and transport construction materials, tools, and equipment to designated work areas. Maintain an organized and efficient supply chain for ongoing projects.
  • Site Preparation: Prepare construction sites by clearing debris, removing obstacles, and ensuring a safe and accessible work environment for all personnel.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain various construction tools and equipment, including drills, saws, concrete mixers, and power tools, adhering to strict safety protocols.
  • Demolition Work: Assist in demolition activities, dismantling structures, removing debris, and disposing of materials responsibly.
  • Construction Support: Provide essential support in tasks such as digging trenches, pouring concrete, setting up scaffolding, and erecting temporary structures.
  • Basic Repairs: Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on construction equipment and tools to ensure their optimal functionality.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines, wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and actively contribute to maintaining a clean and hazard-free work environment.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless workflow, report progress, and address any concerns or issues promptly.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in the construction industry or a related field is preferred but not always required. On-the-job training may be provided for qualified candidates.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including heavy lifting, standing for extended periods, and working in various weather conditions.
  • Proficiency in using common hand and power tools, as well as the ability to understand and follow instructions accurately.
  • Knowledge of construction site safety protocols and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  • Strong collaborative skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team, taking instructions from supervisors and assisting coworkers as needed.
  • Willingness to learn and perform a variety of construction tasks, adapting to changing project requirements and work environments.
  • Demonstrated punctuality, dependability, and a strong work ethic to meet project deadlines and maintain consistent attendance.
