Position Overview:
The Construction Site Supervisor is tasked with overseeing, guiding, and coordinating the efforts of subcontractors, vendors, and Turner trade personnel. This role is pivotal in ensuring the safety, timely delivery, quality of work, and budget compliance of the project. The Construction Site Supervisor holds supervisory authority over trade employees on the site.
Reports to: Superintendent, Project Manager, Project Executive, and Trades Manager
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a working supervisor while leading trade personnel to accomplish site-related tasks.
- Manage and make decisions regarding work performance related to scheduling, delivery, logistics, quality assurance, and staffing levels.
- Facilitate collaboration among assigned trades to ensure a synchronized project operation. Collaborate closely with the Superintendent to address local area challenges regarding procedures, precedence, design clarifications, and labor and equipment scheduling.
- Support overall site safety and quality initiatives, ensuring compliance with Turner standards and all relevant safety regulations and jobsite security.
- Complete and submit daily time sheets, construction reports, and necessary safety documentation.
- Participate in the hiring process for trade staff and provide recommendations.
- Supervise and mentor trade employees, including contributing to performance evaluations.
- Address employee needs and resolve issues, providing feedback, recognition, and disciplinary actions as necessary.
- Assist the project team in developing schedules and determining work sequencing. Formulate and implement recovery strategies to maintain project timelines when needed.
- Assist in scheduling and expediting the delivery of materials and equipment.
- Communicate effectively with the owner's representative and architects/engineers regarding field issues. Investigate and document resolutions for scope-related concerns.
- Ensure that contracted work is executed in accordance with and conforms to the approved contract documents.
- Operate equipment such as forklifts, backhoes, skid steers, excavators, compactors, and construction hoists.
- Maintain compliance with site safety and quality programs, ensuring adherence to Turner standards and all applicable safety codes, regulations, and jobsite security.
- Foster positive working relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, and colleagues.
- Be prepared to travel and accommodate night and weekend work as necessary.
- Exhibit a high level of teamwork, integrity, commitment, and leadership in daily operations.

Qualifications:
- Minimum of five (5) years' experience or a combination of education, training, and exposure to supervisory responsibilities.
- Possess the skills necessary to perform rough carpentry tasks.
- Moderate technical abilities, including proficiency with smartphones/tablets and supported software.
- Proficiency in Environmental Health & Safety applications.
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project schedules.
- Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to comprehend safety instructions and signage, communicate effectively in emergency situations, and understand written safety instructions from tool and equipment manufacturers.
- OSHA 30-hour certification.
- Valid driver's license.
