Position Overview:
As a Systems Engineer II at H-E-B Digital, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our digital security landscape. Your expertise will be pivotal in implementing Infrastructure-as-Code methodologies to ensure the deployment, maintenance, and security of various frameworks across our extensive systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement code-driven solutions to address prevalent infrastructure security challenges.
  • Revamp the security services portfolio with an emphasis on self-service and automation, utilizing Infrastructure as Code and other engineering practices.
  • Provide exceptional support to our clients, demonstrating a commitment to secure outcomes.
  • Leverage your experience to identify and define solutions for new features, applying sound technical and security-focused judgment.
  • Collaborate with diverse infrastructure and application teams to deliver top-tier digital security experiences.
  • Stay informed about emerging security technologies and evaluate their potential integration into your team's offerings.
  • Establish best practices for securing both cloud and on-premise infrastructures that support our high-performance enterprise.
  • Act as a technical resource for initiatives, overseeing the design and delivery of complex features across multiple systems to enhance security and user experiences.
  • Recommend process and tool enhancements based on industry standards and best practices.
  • Diagnose and resolve intricate technical and security issues, both independently and collaboratively.
  • Communicate development statuses, risks, and concerns to technical leadership and management.
  • Create and maintain documentation and training materials related to technology stacks, security services, and development processes.
  • Provide comprehensive security and service support to application teams across various security services.

Qualifications:

  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality results with an ownership mentality.
  • Experience working with project teams and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Strong communication skills to clarify projects and ideas for engineering teams and leadership.
  • Passion for customer service and digital security.
  • Adaptable and agile approach to both people and technical challenges.
  • 2+ years of experience with zScaler SaaS-based security solutions.
  • 2+ years in Digital Security and Infrastructure Administration.
  • Familiarity with common security services and management frameworks.
  • Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code mechanisms.
  • Proficiency in scripting and development using languages such as Python or Java.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD processes and automation tools.
  • Experience with public cloud infrastructure and on-premise environments.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced technical environment.
  • Flexibility to work in a hybrid environment and participate in on-call schedules.
